Terah’s world is built for every kind of kid and every grown-up shopping for one. We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA across the site, and we keep working at it.

The Magic Wand

Press W, or the wand button, to open settings that apply everywhere and are remembered on your device:

• Text size, up to 130%
• Boosted contrast, for solid panels and brighter text
• Bold focus rings
• Chill Mode, which slows and softens motion. The world also holds still on its own when your device asks for reduced motion.
• Color calm, which softens the tie-dye sky
• Sound on or off, from the speaker button at the top of every page. Nothing plays until you choose it.

Keyboard

• Number keys fly to each island. Escape comes back to Portal Island, the home page.
• Arrow keys look around, and + and - zoom. The mouse wheel scrolls the page.
• In the storybook, the left and right arrows turn the pages.
• Tab reaches every button, and every panel and dialog closes with Escape.

Screen readers and no-3D devices

Each island announces itself when you arrive, and the storybook reads each page aloud as it turns. The shop, the story and every place in the world are also written out as plain text for browsers that can’t show 3D.
